TidyWren

You've bought hundreds of bundles of cutting or embroidery files, and you no longer know what you own. TidyWren sorts and checks your collection: duplicates, broken files, files your machine will refuse — on your PC, offline. What you set aside goes into a safe bin, reversible in one click.

TidyWren doesn't draw or embroider: it reads, compares and sorts. Your files are never modified; repairs are written alongside.

You probably know one of these three situations

« Non-embedded image elements »

Your cutting machine refuses the SVG without saying why. TidyWren spots the known causes of refusal before import — external image, fill pattern, masked cut, too many paths — and explains them in plain words.

You bought that set again

The same design in PES, DST, JEF, EXP and VP3; the same SVG in three bundles. TidyWren recognises duplicates, even when the name or the format changes, and shows you which one to keep.

300 ZIPs never sorted

Bundles downloaded in a hurry, ZIPs inside ZIPs, folders "to sort". TidyWren reads everything without extracting anything and gives you a clear report: how many files, duplicates, broken ones, how much space to recover.

How it works

1

Pick your folder

The one where your bundles land: Downloads, an external drive, your embroidery folder. ZIPs are read in place, never extracted.

2

Read the report

Number of files, grouped duplicates, unreadable files, problem SVGs with the reason. And the answer to "does it fit my hoop?".

3

Set aside, reversibly

You tick what you set aside; TidyWren moves it into a safe bin, on your drive, with a log. One click on "Undo" and everything comes back.

The promises — kept by the code

Nothing is ever deleted. There is no "delete" function. The safe bin moves and logs; your files are never modified; ZIPs are never rewritten.

Nothing leaves the machine. No account, no telemetry, no outgoing connection. The only server is local, on your machine, read-only.

The diagnosis is honest. A file never analysed shows no invented verdict. The checker speaks of "known causes of refusal", never "guaranteed compatible".

TidyWren is in trials: the software works and is tested, but it has not been published yet. It will be announced on the Discord first. It is a Windows application (10 and 11); if you are on a Mac, say so on the Discord — that is what will decide what comes next.

Frequently asked questions

Where do set-aside files go?

Into a safe-bin folder created next to your collection, on the same drive, so that no copy ever crosses the network or the cloud. Nothing goes to the Windows recycle bin. You restore them from the app, file by file or batch by batch.

And my ZIPs? Even ZIPs inside ZIPs?

Yes. Archives are read in place, nested ones included, without extracting or modifying anything. Only password-protected ZIPs are flagged without being read.

Which embroidery formats are read?

PES, PEC, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX and HUS are read in detail: hoop, stitches, colours, truncated or not. Formats locked by their vendors are spotted and counted, never decrypted.

Are my files sent anywhere?

No. No outgoing connection: no account, no statistics, no error report sent. The index stays in a local folder you can erase whenever you like.
